Nintendidn’t …as in “I didn’t own one”. Back in the day, a Nintendo console never graced my gaming setup. Admittedly, as an aficionado of Amiga and Atari, and later a devotee of PlayStation and 3DO, my perspective on Nintendo’s esteemed machines was, shall we say, less than impartial. My appreciation may have been tinged by brand loyalty, perhaps blinding me to the charms of what I now recognize as a remarkable gaming system.
…which in hindsight was a shame, because it’s an impressive machine. My only exposure to one was a friend and I played Street Fighter II Turbo on his for weeks on end, and I throughly enjoyed it. The games below are ones I have later found to be fun, interesting or in many cases down right impressive.
Stunt Race FX. It was the flagship game for Nintendo’s SuperFX chip and I was very keen to see it.
Star Fox. It’s an excellent game, it gets very exciting, very quick, but the graphics are a bit lacking.
Yes it runs Doom. Yes it runs well.
A crazy dog trying to bite your worm nuts?
Street Fighter II Turbo on the SNES was awesome.
